Children of God

Is everyone a child of God?

From a physical standpoint, everyone of us is a child of God but from a spiritual perspective, we are not all children of God.

Some Christian ministers, pastors and teachers, as well as, leaders from other religions, are pushing for a one world religion. They are trying to unite all world religions, stating that “we are all the children of God.” This is despite the fact that many of their beliefs, deny Christ.

Is this correct?

Are we all children of God, regardless of our beliefs?

Are we all children of God simply because of our physical descent; that is, we can trace our ancestry back to the first human, Adam, who was created by God?

Let’s dig into God’s word, the Holy Bible, to find out.

We can know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are.

1 John 3:10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

As children of God, we are under God and we love God. But the world is under the control of Satan.

1 John 5:19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

You must believe in the name of Jesus Christ, for Him to give you the right to become a child of God.

John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

To be a child of God, you must be led by the Spirit of God.

Rom 8:14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

Rom 9:8 In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.

Gal 3:7 Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham.

It is faith in Jesus Christ that makes you a child of God.

Gal 3:26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith

The world does not know the true children of God because it does not accept Jesus Christ, as God, but we do.

1 John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Accepting immorality, pagan beliefs, and other sins, under the guise of accepting “diversity” is to be friends with the world, while ignoring God’s word. Doing so, makes you an “enemy” of God, not a child of God.

James 4:4 You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

As it was in Jesus’ day, there are those today who try to use deceit and trickery to pervert the ways of the Lord.

Acts 13:10 “You are a child of the devil and an enemy of everything that is right! You are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery. Will you never stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?

If we believe in Jesus Christ through faith and are led by the Spirit of God, then we are children of God, now. But yet, what we will be, has not been fully made known, but we know that when Christ appears we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

1 John 3:2-3 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.

How can we know that we love the children of God?

1 John 5:2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.

The children of God love with actions and in truth.
1 John 3:18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

The true children of God are promised a great future in God’s plan. The creation itself, (for example, all of the desolate planets currently with no life) waits to be liberated from its bondage to decay, by the true children of God.

Rom 8:19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

Rom 8:21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.

We are all God’s creation but we are not all God’s children, unless we are led by His Holy Spirit.
